Contradictions in Time

porters porkers

This one I could not resist for the fun.

Porters Porkers?   I dare you to suppress that grin.

The limestone initially caught my eye, but the irony, the wholehearted humor of the matter lies in the contradiction of eras, the age conflicts reflected herein.

On close study, the metal strip across the top of the roof dates the building to the early 1900s, as does the limestone construction.

The plywood base for the sign, certainly not original to the structure.  Likely added since the 70s or 80s.

Genetipork?  That’s surely a creation o f the 80s.  And the area code for this Kansas locale expired in the past decade or two.

Contradictions.  Fodder for fun.
